Degree Requirements. A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university is required prior to matriculation to medical school. No particular major is preferred, but a broad educational background is encouraged.

The Undergraduate Program in Medical Sciences is an innovative pathway that provides students with integrated academic, experiential, and mentored opportunities that will prepare them for advanced training in biomedical science,medicine, and other health professions.

Georgetown takes an integrated approach to educating students in its School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Health Studies. We combine a rigorous education in the core areas of study required in medicine, nursing and health studies, with training in ethics, compassion, health care policy and other areas that challenge our students to think deeply about health care and its role in society. After graduation, our students become exceptional doctors, nurses, biomedical scientists and health professionals.
